Financial and Entrepreneurial Sciences
The Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) in Finance program is the core of the Center of Competence Finance in Zürich.
Overview
Today, innovation is not only a matter of scientific invention or engineering breakthroughs, but also critically depends on the entrepreneurial skills of those involved in the process. The goal of this project is to educate scientists and engineers to combine technical or scientific knowledge with entrepreneurial attitude and know-how. In collaboration with the Handelshochschule St. Gallen and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, ETH has begun to establish the corresponding training programs.
See here for details of the International Senior Entrepreneurial Leadership Program (ISEP).
Another initiative within this SEP aims at the creation of a Competence Center for Finance (CCFZ) in Zurich, a facility that seeks to generate progress in this field through collaboration of ETH Zürich finance mathematicians with University of Zürich specialists in banking and (micro-)economy. Part of the mission of the CCFZ is to train young professionals in this area. For this purpose the MAS Finance Program was established. Another, well established entity in this area of research, is the Risk Lab.
