SEP Projects & Project Areas

The Strategic Excellence Projects are diverse, not only in their content focus, but also from an organizational perspective. Each SEP Project Area uses a number of different instruments in research and education. These include workshops, summer schools and formal trainings as well as large-scale interdisciplinary research projects, and even the implementation of centers of excellence and state-of-the-art research facilities.

An SEP Project Area is led by a director and a scientific co-ordinator, and most have a steering committee and an advisory board.

The collaborative research partners in the SEP Program are the University of Zürich for Life Sciences, Medical Engineering, Financial Science, and Information Science, the University of St. Gallen for Entrepeneurial Science, and the Centro Svizzero di Calcolo Scientifico and the Universita della Svizzera Italiana for Computational Science.
